For many of us, the winter is a time to take a break from a long season of training and racing. A time to make up for many months of not getting that extra hour of rest or enjoying a delicious calorie-infused breakfast with a loved one...
The atypical winter in Washington has served as a gentle reminder that it’s time to get our legs familiar with long distance rides again. You know the typical winter ride — the one where everyone says they’re gonna “take it easy,” but before long you’re rolling at a 25mph pace and questioning if pancakes every Saturday in December were the best way to prep for 2012.
If you’re like me, you see the fair weather we’re having as mother nature’s way of telling us we need to get our butt’s in gear. What better way to motivate said butts than to register for Total200. We’re making exciting changes to the route and expect this year’s Total200 to be the best yet. The 200k option (roughly 125 miles) was a huge hit last year — I had a great time riding it — and we’re expecting many more people to register again this year. Don’t wait too long to make Total200 a part of your plans this year!
