A week after the 200k scoute ride I got some dedicated souls to come out and ride the Total 200 route. We started at 6am just like we will on June 25th and quickly ticked off the first 50 miles before we stopped...

The day quickly heated up and by the time we were rolling through miles 75-105 the humidity was steaming. When we rolled out from "lunch" it was a matter of keeping going and counting the miles but by 125 we were buying ice and filling our spandex to get our core temps down. A couple stops like that got us to 155 when a nasty thundestorm sidelined us for about an hour, huddled in a mini-mart getting offered some Yeager bombs to keep warm. The rest of the ride was cooler and somewhat wet. We rolled in around 8pm with about 10:15 of in-saddle time. Thanks to Chad, Marc and Sarah for pushing out all those miles! Clearly a group effort.
